G8 - Live 8 - never too late to do more (except for the millions of already dead of course)

Above: Thease tools are going to Africa as part of an excellent 'direct action' campaign in Britain called 'Tools For Self Reliance'. Over 700 volunteers in Britain collect and refurbish hand tools and sewing machines which are then sent to Africa. Tools can make all the difference, so this is a very useful and practical way of helping people help themselves. The campaign is backed by Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and works with respected local organisations in Ghana, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. If you have any spare tools contact: 023 8086 9697 to organise free collection anywhere in Britain (almost).
