The BBC is already publishing lots of first hand reports of Hawaii earthquake experiences.A large (6.6) early morning earthquake at sea near the surfers paradise of Hawaii caused little damage and no reported deaths, but there was "significant wave activity" according to a US scientist.
Unfortunately it was too early in the morning for surfers to take advantage.
