san andreas fault: southern california ready to blow says nature magazine

The results of research just published in the authorative Nature Magazine strongly suggests that a "considerable amount of strain" is building up in Southern California and could create a 8.0 richter scale quake within the next 10 years.

This will especially annoy Arab investors who brought up vast tracts of California from the Chinese in the 1980's without realising that the whole area could fall into the sea at any moment. The Chinese then invested in Australia.
