us election: getting the latest news

Sarah Palin is by far the favourite in one thing - being the Halloween monster that American's are dressing up as in order to scare their friends. Image from bartcop.com which always has good information on the US election.

State of the art poll compilation site fivethirtyeight.com currently has Oboma with a 95.7 chance of winning the Whitehouse and McCain with just 4.3, meanwhile a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll is saying Obama's lead has dropped to just five points.

According to Publisher and Editor, Senator Obama leads in newspaper endorsements with 145 to McCain's 55. Thirty 'Republican' papers which supported Bush last time now support Obama, many citing McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as the clincher.

One of the latest newspapers to come out for Obama is the Anchorage Daily News, the largest newspaper in Governor Sarah Palin's state of Alaska, so they must know Palin better than most. Of her they said "few who have worked closely with the governor would argue she is truly ready to assume command of the most important, powerful nation on earth."

The New York Times has an interesting behind the scenes look at the McCain campaign and how Sarah Palin was chosen; it's pretty close to an obituary.

On Saturday in Albuquerque both presidential candidates held election events. Obama drew 45,000 supporters , McCain's had just 1000.

Newsweek is warning of the future Sarah Palin Problem; the rabid racist right wing 'Real American' monster created by McCain. Even Bush did not stoop as low.
